General information

Situated on the flat Serengeti plains, Sabora Tented Camp has been designed around a 1920s theme and for those who are searching for an ‘Out of Africa’ experience; Sabora will fulfill your every need. This camp offers elegant simplicity and laid-back romance with 360-degree views of the plains that teem with wildlife.

There are six lavish tents to choose from which evoke the sense of romance and adventure of a temporary camp, whilst offering every luxury you can imagine. Soft canvas separates guests from the elements and interiors are beautifully decorated with European finery, ethnically-inspired objects and campaign furniture.

With its enormous skies, wheat-colored plains and abundant wildlife, a visit to the Serengeti is a lifetime ambition for many travelers. Grumeti Reserves are part of the great annual wildebeest migration route and even when it’s not migration season, herds of gazelle, zebra and giraffe can be found across the plains.

Location

Sabora is located in the Grumeti Reserves of the western corridor of the Serengeti bordering the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Musoma is the nearest village.

Facilities

Facilities at Sabora include a dining room, lounge, heated plunge pool, Jacuzzi, tennis court, Colonial Trading Post, laundry & valet services, bar lounge (with satellite TV, DVD player and library), playstation and board games, and a spacious, covered viewing deck overlooking the Serengeti plains. A selection of compound and recurve bows are also available, together with targets, for archery practice on the plains.

Rooms

The six lavish tents, swathed in gauze and silk, are air-conditioned and feature a bedroom and reading area. All tents have their own bathroom with bath and outdoor shower. For those quiet and personal moments each tent has its own viewing deck with a Swarovski spotting scope.

Activities

Professionally guided activities include game drives in open vehicles, walks, night drives, horse riding on the Equestrian track, horse out rides onto the plains, mountain biking and archery. Other activities available at one’s leisure include badminton, lawn croquet, and swimming.
