General information

Sasakwa Lodge is situated on top of Sasakwa Hill, adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti in Tanzania. The property is built in the style of a turn-of-the-century east African ranch house, and every effort has been made to celebrate the spectacular views of the Serengeti plains below.

The interiors celebrate nature and the colours of the bush, yet Sasakwa boasts the elegant feel of a gentleman’s club contrasted with fantastic Venetian mirrors and crystal chandeliers. The variety of bedrooms offer a wonderful mix of European finery and African influences - the perfect space to 'just be' at the end of a long day.

At Sasakwa you will find every comfort including delicious meals, award winning wines and a wealth of activities. Sasakwa Lodge is the perfect space to discover the magic of the Serengeti.

Without a doubt, the Serengeti is one of the most prolific wild areas in Africa. Singita Grumeti Reserves is located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti (bordering the national park) and encompasses over 350 000 acres of unrivalled wilderness.

Location

Sasakwa Lodge at Singita Grumeti Reserves is located in northern Tanzania and forms part of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, bordering on the Serengeti National Park.

Rooms

Sasakwa Lodge is built in the grand style of an English manor home; it has seven superbly appointed guest cottages, one of which is a four bedroom house. The suites are air-conditioned and feature a bedroom, lounge with fireplace, en suite bathroom with bath and shower, guest bathroom, dressing area, direct dial telephone facilities and heated infinity pool.

Wildlife

Singita Grumeti Reserves form part of the world-famous migratory route. The Great Migration traditionally moves through Grumeti Reserves between June and August. However, there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen in Grumeti all year round, including; 400 species of birds (including five endemic species and a high concentration of raptors), 40 species of herbivores, 25 species of large carnivores and prolific plant life and plant species.
