General information

Edo's Camp is situated in the Kalahari area of Botswana. Edo's Camp offers not only a chance to explore the Kalahari area and its inhabitants, but also offers a rich cultural experience with the people of Botswana.

Edo's Camp is an eight tented camp with a maximum capacity for only 16 guests, located in a 300,000 acre private game conservancy in the Kalahari area of Botswana. Privacy and exclusivity are assured. The camp itself is set around a rocky watering hole with the tents facing the pan. Accommodation is in spacious luxury tents under a thatched canopy, situated around ancient lead wood trees providing a cool retreat. The tents have en-suite bathrooms and each a private verandah with views across to the waterhole.

The wildlife of the Kalahari has adapted to the environment with species such as gemsbok, hartebeest, kudu, springbok, wildebeest, giraffe and rhino flourishing. To experience the wildlife from Edo's, the camp offers ventures on foot to track rhino with a Bushman, game drives in a 4 by 4 vehicle and night drives, although often you don't need to leave camp as the permanent waterhole attracts an endless procession of thirsty animals in the drier months.

Location

Edo's Camp is located in a 120,000 hectare game conservancy, in the western Kalahari Desert.

Activities

Daily game drives, together with a personal guide in specially designed vehicles, provide guests the chance of viewing many species of mammal only found in this desert environment. Other activities include walks with San bushman tracking white rhino on foot as well as joining the women and children of the village in gathering edible roots and plants – a fascinating insight into their traditional life. It is also possible just to relax in front of the waterhole as a steady parade of antelope quench their thirst, the best way to enjoy sundowners in the Kalahari!

Rooms

All eight tents are Meru style tents on raised wooden platforms under a shady thatched roof. The main area is thatched and raised on a platform so that you can have the best outlook over the water. Guests can take in the astounding view across the pan from the tented rooms. The bedrooms are all en-suite, with a bath, shower, toilet and hand-basin.
