The Journey

This itinerary offers two contrasting destinations in Botswana, resulting in an excellent blend of wide ranging activities and experiences. The Green Desert Expedition explores the contrasts of two major habitats: the Central Kalahari Desert and finally the lush islands and blue-green waterways of the Okavango Delta. The accommodation throughout is rustic but extremely comfortable, offering guests a true African experience.

Day 1 – 4 - Deception Valley, Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Itinerary
From Johannesburg you will catch a connecting flight to Maun. Upon arrival in Maun, you will be transferred by light aircraft to the Central Kalahari for a three-night stay. Deception Valley Lodge will be your base. Enjoy extended wildlife game drives taking in the game-rich Pipers Pans area of the Kalahari, as well as the Letiahau and Deception Valleys.

Day 4 – 7 - Xigera Camp, Okavango Delta

Itinerary
After a light breakfast you will be flown to Maun and then on to the water-filled paradise of the private Xigera area, within the Moremi Game Reserve. Xigera is the ultimate Delta experience.

Xigera Camp is a waterland paradise in the Moremi Game Reserve. Permanent water allows a variety of activities such as mokoro trips, guided walks, game drives and boat outings. Nestled in a magnificent riverine forest, Xigera consists of 10 luxuriously furnished tents.

Day 7 - End of Tour

Itinerary
After an early morning activity and breakfast, you fly to Maun, where you will catch a connecting flight to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg, continue with your onward connection.
