General information

Muchenje Safari Lodge bordering the Chobe National Park, is set on an escarpment edge and has been designed to take full advantage of the breathtaking views over the Caprivi Strip. Muchenje is the only lodge to be found in this area, offering a unique wilderness experience.

Muchenje accommodates 20 guests in twin-bedded thatched chalets, all with en suite facilities and private balconies providing unique views. Great care has been given to furnishing the chalets to create a truly African ‘ambience’.

The thatched main lodge includes a dining area, lounge, bar and game-viewing platform overlooking a waterhole. The Lodge’s swimming pool, built amongst natural rock formations, takes full advantage of the African vista and provides a tranquil setting for guests to relax in during the heat of the day.

Game viewing activities consist of day and night game drives in 4x4 vehicles, River Cruises along the Chobe River, cultural visits to a tribal village as well as fishing on request are all offered at Muchenje. The game drives are conducted around the lodge area, which is outside the park, or inside the Chobe National Park.

Location

Muchenje Safari Lodge is situated on the Western side of Chobe National Park and is the only lodge in this area offering a unique prolific game experience.

Dining and Facilities

The Main lodge features a dining area, bar, reception, curio shop, game viewing platform and library. The feature swimming pool is built amongst natural rock formations, taking advantage of the African vista and providing a tranquil setting for guests to relax during the heat of the day. Meals are served table d'bush, wholesome and plentiful, yet well presented. Theme dinners, vegetarians and special meal requests are catered for. Guests dine together on a long railway sleeper dining table, and dress is informal.

Rooms

Muchenje accommodates just twenty guests in intimate exclusivity. The ten twin-bedded thatched chalets, all with en-suite facilities, are sited on the escarpment edge all with their own balcony and unique view. Each chalet is equipped with mosquito nets, overhead fan and power points.

Activities

Muchenje Safari Lodge offers a range of activities including; game drives conducted in open Land Rovers with qualified professional guides, cultural tours where you visit an elder's home offering a glimpse into tribal life of Botswana as well as walking safaris, boat cruises and fishing is available on request.
