General information

Surrounded on all sides by seductively wild and powerful waterways, Ntwala Island Lodge is the most pristine and secluded Chobe destination. Intricate floating walkways link an untouched Namibian cluster of islands within the Mambova rapids where two mighty African rivers – the Zambezi and Chobe converge, only 80km upstream from the Victoria Falls and where white sands and palm trees add to the romance - belying the fact that this lodge is in Africa!

Ntwala Island Lodge comprises of four ultra luxury styled fully appointed suites, each inclusive of a private plunge pool fringed by white sand and opulent viewing deck, bay bath feature; indoor and outdoor shower; as well as a private sala extending enticingly out over the water.

Activities at Ntwala are predominantly water borne and privately guided, and the close and convenient proximity to Chobe National Park ensures guests will have exclusivity and a comprehensive wildlife experience. Each suite has a boat and guide to ensure individual choice, flexibility and privacy.

Location

Ntwala Island Lodge is situated in Namibia on an unusual group of islands within the Mambova rapids of the Zambezi River, where it meets the Chobe River. Although the lodge is officially located in Namibia, it is in fact far closer to the tourist regions of Zambia and Botswana and is only 80km upstream of the Victoria Falls.

Rooms

The four suites, completely independent from each other behind screens of vine-strangled trees, are immense and open towards the bush and the rapids through sliding glass doors; the bedrooms are impressive, but even more spectacular are the huge bathrooms with their jacuzzis. Meals can be served on the wooden deck that extends out with the swimming pool embedded in its midst and with tropical white-sand beach on one side. Lower down, on your lapa above the white water, two swing chairs entice you to sit, relax and just look.

Activities

Each suite has a boat and guide to ensure individual choice, flexibility and privacy.
Meander the multiple waterways with your personal guide and private boat, indulging in a vast array of activities; mokoro the quiet backwaters or take in an exclusive Chobe sunset cruise whilst viewing Africa’s big game. Ntwala also offers a superb fishing experience.
