General Information

Hog Hollow is set on the edge of an indigenous forest in a private nature reserve with panoramic views of the surrounding indigenous forests, valleys and mountains, in one of the most beautiful parts of Africa - the Garden Route.

The 15 suites all have private decks overlooking incredible vistas and offer guests relaxed luxury in an unforgettable setting. The Main House forms a communal dining area surrounded by a long blue swimming pool that visually flows into the valley below and a boma where nightly fires are lit. Other attractions include a forest sauna and privately sited forest shower with never-ending views over the valley.

For the adventurous, the lodge is the perfect base from which to explore and experience numerous adventure activities. The staff will take care of the planning and bookings for you. They usually help guests plan their day at breakfast, then go off to make all the necessary arrangements before sending you on your way complete with directions, a washed car and a scrumptious picnic basket.

Location

Hog Hollow is located in the heart of the Garden Route, a mere 10 minute's drive from the delightful coastal town of Plettenberg Bay. The lodge is set on a private nature reserve with towering views overlooking a verdant forest canopy.

Rooms

Hog Hollow boasts15 suites with king size beds and all with private decks overlooking forest vistas. Guests sleep comfortably in crisp linen and each night there is a special turndown. On chilly winter nights, a hot water bottle is slipped between the sheets just in case the cosy fireplace isn't enough. Rooms are fitted with mini bars and mini hi-fi's but no TVs or telephones.

Hog Hollow is well known for its delectable food. Farmhouse breakfasts are served overlooking the forest or near the huge fireplace when it's cooler. In the evenings, guests enjoy dinners around the communal table in the candle-lit atmosphere of the main house. Meals are prepared using only the freshest of local produce and includes a selection of main courses of which fish, prawns and crayfish are daily features.
