General information

Kings Camp is situated in the Timbavati Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The eleven thatched spacious air-conditioned suites are “fit for a king” with custom-made mahogany furniture, colonial accents and bathrooms boasting Victorian baths and double outside showers.

Kings Camp offers a number of very comfortable living areas for you to just sit back, relax and soak up the tranquility of the African bush. A thatched viewing deck overlooking a very active waterhole and an open plan lounge and bar are the ideal place to see out the heat of the day, while sipping on an ice cold cocktail. Alternatively, perhaps a dip in the swimming pool would be a better option. The spacious dining room offers stunning views of the bushveld, while enjoying the sumptuous meals.

Kings Camp offers gracious hospitality in a unique romantic ambience. The camp is a game-viewing haven boasting the ‘Big 5’ and is well known for its numerous Lion and Leopard sightings. Relax in fine colonial style, and let yourself be pampered by the staff’s warm and attentive service.

Location

Kings Camp is situated in the Timbavati Game Reserve in South Africa lying on the western boundary of the Kruger National Park.

Dining

The head chef is on hand to create a variety of wholesome and satisfying dishes, which gives each and every guest a taste into the finest in African ingredients and decadent flavours. Breakfast and lunch are served in the dining room. No dinner will be the same at Kings Camp. From dining under the stars in the heart of the bush, or in the traditional boma, to fine service dinners in the dining room, or in the garden under a large knobthorn tree. A private dinner in your suite, is offered to couples wanting to spend time together in privacy.

Rooms

The eleven generously spaced thatched suites are equipped with mosquito nets, air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, Victorian ball-and-claw bath, indoor and outdoor double shower, fully stocked mini-bar and private verandah with hammock. Other room amenities include robes, mosquito repellent, an umbrella, hairdryer and a torch. Your suite is also equipped with its own safe and telephone.

Activities

With knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request, and are the best way of experiencing the “finer” aspects of the bushveld. There are also a range of other activities on offer including playing on an 18-hole golf course, helicopter trips to the Blyde River Canyon Area and community visits and a visit to an African rehabilitation centre.
