General Information

Tanda Tula is situated in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. With only a few visitors and a limited number of game-viewing vehicles traversing on thousands of hectares of immaculate African bush, it really offers you an amazing safari experience.

Tanda Tula is renowned as the most luxurious tented camp in South Africa. The thatched East Africa style tents are just beautiful with crisp linen, heaters, fans, outside deck chairs, slippers and stunning bathrooms with a very relaxing Victorian bath and what must be the best outdoor shower in the bush. Each luxury tent overlooks the River, which is dry for most of the year, so you can relax on your spacious and private wooden deck and watch the passing parade.

The approach here is very simple - your physical needs are looked after by feeding and accommodating you to five star standards; and your spirits are connected with nature by giving you intimate and safe access to all the creatures of the wild, big and small.

Delicious meals are served in a variety of venues from private meals on your deck to poolside lunches to convivial evenings around the fire in the boma. The bush breakfasts are a highlight.

Location

Tanda Tula is set amidst thousands of acres of pristine wilderness in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

Rooms

Tanda Tula has 12 luxury tents each with their own private timber deck overlooking the riverbed. Tents feature lovely en-suite bathrooms with free standing Victorian baths, his and hers vanity basins and indoor and outdoor showers. The Tandala thatched suite offers an exclusive safari option with its own pool, personal cook, ranger and game-viewing vehicle. For the more adventurous, sleep outs can be arranged at the hide overlooking the waterhole.

Facilities

The bar/lounge overlooks the waterhole where you will spot many animals. Other facilities include a boma where dinner is served, a swimming pool with outside bar and also a curio shop.

Dining

Tanda Tula is famous for its bush breakfasts after which lunch is a light affair served in the main dining area. Dinners are served in a variety of locations including by the pool (in front of the watering hole) and in the boma. All meals are heralded by the sound of the African drum.
