General Information

Isibindi Zulu Lodge is situated within the 4000 acre Isibindi Eco-Reserve which offers diverse habitats ranging from montane grassland and valley thornveld to riverine forests. The reserve is home to abundant indigenous game, morning and evening game drives are offered and there is excellent bird watching. It is also quite safe to walk or take a picnic along one of the meandering river beds and view Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and much more.

This twelve bed luxury lodge is a stone's throw away from the historically momentous Anglo-Zulu battlefields of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana where Zulu and British clashed in a devestating battle which had enormous consequences for the Zulu people. The lodge also offers a choice of authentic Zulu cultural experiences.

Isibindi Zulu Lodge is an architectural celebration of the Zulu nation. The lodge is a peaceful bushveld retreat which also offers a host of activities for guests wanting to experience a combination of luxurious accommodation, game viewing, battlefields, Zulu cultural experiences and for the thrill seekers there is also white water rafting, abseiling and more.

Location

Situated in a private game reserve bordering the Buffalo River approximately 9km from the world-renowned battlefield of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana.

Rooms

Six luxury beehive suites, architecturally inspired by the traditional beehive shape, offer panoramic views of the game reserve and are en-suite with bath and shower. With limited numbers of guests in the camp this is an exclusive and unique traditional Zulu experience.

Activities

Activities at Isibindi Zulu Lodge include battlefields tours, Zulu cultural evenings - a traditional village acquaints you to traditional aspects of Zulu life, dancing and singing, a Zulu homestead visit, a visit a to Sangoma (Zulu witch doctor), river rafting - grade 2, 3 and 4 rapids, abseiling 45m (by prior arrangement only), game drives and walks in the Isibindi Eco Reserve.

Dining at Isibindi Zulu Lodge is always a special occasion and meals are served up in a variety of different venues depending on the weather.
