General Information

Phinda Getty House is a sophisticated sole-use villa situated in the west of the Phinda Private Game Reserve. This exclusive, cutting-edge private residence overlooks an extinct volcano now covered in lush green vegetation and ringed by gently rolling hills.

Phinda Getty consists of four spacious luxury suites each with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and beautiful views. The sole use lodge is breathtakingly stylish and sophisticated yet refreshingly simple. Natural fibres and textures characterize the interiors. There is a lovely deck with rim-flow eternity pool provides for respite from the heat of the day.

Safari activities at Phinda are plentiful and you enjoy game-drives and bush walks through the Big Five Reserve. The Mzinene River gives you the chance to take a canoe out onto the waters or spend a sun-kissed evening sipping cocktails on the Riverboat Cruise. White Rhino wander the plains and the expert rangers will take you out on a White Rhino tracking safari should you wish. The nearby Sodwana Bay caters for those water lovers among you where world class scuba diving and big game fishing are just some of the exciting activities on offer.

Location

Phinda Getty House is located in the Phinda Game Reserve and between the Indian Ocean and the World Heritage Greater St Lucia Wetland Park.

Four spacious and luxurious suites feature unique sliding panel windows with sweeping views of the surrounding African bushveld. A beautiful combination of yellow sandstone with timber, thatch and screeded cement, airy free flowing spaces and hues of grey, slate and celadon are breathtakingly stylish and sophisticated yet refreshingly simple. Natural fibres and textures characterise the elegant interiors.

Activities

Enjoy game-drives, interpretive bush walks, canoeing on the Mzinene River, White Rhino tracking, or watch the sunrise or sunset whilst enjoying a Mzinene Riverboat Cruise - all at no extra cost. Scuba diving or game fishing in Sodwana Bay, horse riding along the beach or through False Bay Nature Reserve, a breathtaking flight over Maputaland are all safari activities that can be arranged at Phinda at an additional charge.

Dining

Delicious Pan-African cuisine is enjoyed illuminated by dozens of candles and lanterns, or served to you in a spectacular clearing in the bush under a star-studded sky. With a private butler and chef and an interactive kitchen this really allows for intimate and informal dining.
