General Information

Colona is situated on the warm False Bay coast, within easy reach of the airport and Cape Town city centre. Colona Castle was established to offer the discerning visitor a comfortably elegant base from which to explore the interesting and beautiful Cape Peninsula. Originally built in 1929 as a turreted and crenellated edifice, Colona Castle has recently been renovated in the Tuscan style and boasts a three story entrance tower.

Eight individually designed rooms and suites are poised for extraordinary sunrises and graced with magical light throughout the day. The enchanting site of Colona Castle enjoys soft hues across sky and mountains at sundown before coming alive with the scintillating night city lights. Below Colona Castle, on Sandvlei Lake, there are many boating activities, such as yachting, windsurfing and canoeing. There are four golf courses within easy reach.

Cruises or deep sea fishing trips can be arranged out of Hout Bay harbour. False Bay is famous for its whales and, at Boulders Beach, a colony of almost tame penguins are always on parade. The Cape Point Nature Reserve is within an easy driving distance with its selection of wildlife and birds.
