General Information

Set amongst the vineyards of a private wine estate in the shadow of Cape Town's Table Mountain, the highly acclaimed Constantia Uitsig Hotel is just twenty minutes from Cape Town city centre and the Waterfront.

Constantia Uitsig's tranquil surroundings, charming service and heartfelt hospitality are enhanced by its splendid location on a working wine estate. The hotel has sixteen garden rooms furnished with elegant simplicity and sweeping views of the gardens - a perfect resting place for the most discerning traveler. The recently opened Spa has been featured in Tatlers's Guide to the Top Spas in the World 2007.

This beautiful valley is blessed with moderate temperatures, excellent soils, good rainfall and cooling sea breezes from two close-by oceans. David and Marlene McKay bought the farm in 1988 and restored to its former glory. Wine farming has been revived after careful research and planning by the Wine Director, Andre Badenhorst. With 40 hectares under cultivation, the farm produces award winning wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

La Colombe restaurant has been voted the top restaurant in South Africa for four consecutive years, and serves traditional French Provencal cuisine of the very highest standard. The chef changes the menu daily to incorporate fresh seasonal ingredients with natural sun-ripened flavors. Constantia Uitsig restaurant offers varied and innovative Mediterranean cuisine and since its inception more than ten years ago has consistently featured amongst the top ten restaurants in South Africa.
