General information

Kirurumu Tented Lodge is a comfortable lodge, built with sensitivity and commitment to eco-sensitive tourism, as well as ensuring the comfort of guests. First class service, very comfortable and well-spaced accommodation, delicious home cooked food and a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere may all be taken for granted at Kirurumu. The lodge sleeps a maximum of just 44 people.

The lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvelous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara, the Rift floor and Mt. Losimingori. Behind Kirurumu, the Ngorongoro Highlands rise in green and fertile splendour and form the gateway to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Kirurumu offers a wide range of activities, which aren't available in national parks and that in themselves make this a place worth staying at. Cycling on mountain bikes down to the eastern edge of Lake Manyara and walks from camp can easily be arranged.

Location

Kirurumu Tented Camp is located right on the top edge of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Manyara National Park and beyond.

Rooms

Accommodation consists of individual walk-in luxury tents, built in a careful and eco-sensitive manner. Each tent has an ensuite bathroom, large beds with mosquito nets and a private verandah where you can sit and relax before heading down to the bar and restaurant area. The accommodation here consists of 18 standard luxury tents, 1 family suite and 1 honeymoon suite. Both of these new suites have two bedrooms.

Activities

The main activities here will involve 4x4 safaris in Lake Manyara National Park, a mere 30 minutes from the lodge. One can set out with a packed lunch and spend a full day in this fascinating area with its large diversity of animal and birdlife. The Ngorongoro Crater is a mere hour and a half from Kirurumu. Those on a three-night stay at Kirurumu could certainly take in both Manayara and Ngorongoro.
