General information

Situated on one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful and secluded beaches, Fumba Beach Lodge is a luxurious and peaceful hideaway, offering a perfect blend of casual elegance and friendly, first class service.

Just 30 minutes southwest of Zanzibar’s historic capital, Stone Town, with its magnificent architecture and ancient culture, the Lodge is concealed well away from the busy tourist areas, making it the perfect venue for enjoying the peace and tranquility of this tropical island paradise.

Three naturally formed coves protect the beaches around this 26 room lodge and provide seclusion and tranquility. In the open air restaurant you can enjoy exquisitely prepared fresh seafood along with a tantalizing array of international and local dishes.

For day time excitement you can choose scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming with the dolphins, a sunset cruise, and lots more or just relax at the swimming pool or on the beach under the branches of the baobab and do nothing.

Fumba Beach Lodge is located on the South-West coast of Zanzibar, just thirty minutes from the Airport.

Rooms

Fumba has only 26 rooms to ensure your privacy. The rooms are scattered amongst the extensive grounds, shaded by a forest of baobab trees and palms. The 20 deluxe rooms each have en-suite bathroom, private terraces and stunning ocean views and are spaciously suitable for families and couples. The 4 luxury suites include a private roof terrace, open air shower and bath overlooking the Indian Ocean. For the ultimate in extravagance, spoil yourself in either of the 2 Baobab suites which are cradled in a magnificent baobab tree creating a very romantic ambience.

Whether you want to sample the excitement of water sports, the tranquility of the beach, relax on a sunset cruise or explore the secret corners of this fascinating island, Fumba is the ideal location to tick all of these boxes. The Lodge is situated along 2km’s of coastline offering 3 secluded and exclusive beaches. The cliff top swimming pool provides a breathtaking view of the Ocean. There is also a fully equipped dive centre with the latest equipment, run by qualified PADI professionals. A whole host of Island tours are on offer from Fumba including the famous “spice tour” of Stone Town.

The comfortable open-air restaurant serves a tantalizing array of expertly prepared dishes including local specialties, the freshest seafood and traditional international cuisine in a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere.
