General information
Tangala House is a large and unique family home located on the banks of the Zambezi River, 15 km upstream from the magnificent Victoria Falls, with incredible sunsets across the Zambezi and looking onto the Zambezi National Park. Stylishly built and furnished with a recent feature in the UK House and Garden magazine, Tangala sleeps eight and makes an ideal stay for a family holiday, coming fully serviced and staffed by Tongabezi Lodge.
Tangala House has its own private swimming pool, dining terrace and lawn garden. Beautifully furnished, Tangala has been specifically designed with families in mind. The house has four bedrooms, three of them en-suite, with a spacious kitchen-diner, a children's playroom and a living room that opens onto a superb thatched verandah. All the windows can be closed to keep out insects.
Overlooking the magnificent Zambezi River, the house enjoys spectacular sunsets across the river and views of large herds of elephants on the opposite bank. Hippos can be seen and heard in abundance and more than 145 species of birds have been spotted from the kitchen window.

Tangala House is about 15km upstream from the famous Victoria Falls on the north bank (Zambian side) of the Zambezi River.
Rooms
Tangala House has four bedrooms, a spacious kitchen/dining room, children's playroom, living room opening on to a thatch veranda, a ‘snuggery’ with fireplace and a 12m swimming pool. Tangala comes with one house assistant, two grounds men and three friendly dogs. The house assistant will help with cooking, housekeeping and laundry. The master bedroom faces the Zambezi River and has a king size teak bed with sitting area and sofa, bathroom with large double bath set into railway sleepers, and shower.
Facilities
Large herds of elephant often come down to drink on the opposite bank and hippopotamus are regularly seen and heard. There is fantastic birdlife here with over 145 species to date spotted from the kitchen window. The living room has a large sofa and two armchairs and leads onto a ‘snuggery' with satellite TV, video, Hi Fi and jetmaster fireplace. The house has 250m of private river frontage and boasts a lovely swimming pool.
Activities
For the younger at heart or the 'adrenaline junkie', how about a bungy jump off the Falls bridge - one of the highest in the world, or white water rafting through the gorges and rapids below the Falls. Other activities include elephant rides, horse riding, game drives and for those interested in the culture and traditions of the area, there is the Livingstone museum and numerous crafts centres.
