The Most Beautiful City in the World

When a city regularly features in the world’s top ten most desirable tourist destinations, it’s often easy to forget what makes the city so special in the first place. With Cape Town, it’s not hard to see why South Africa’s Mother City continues to pick up the International plaudits.

Blessed with jaw-droppingly beautiful mountains, beaches, rolling hills of vineyards, excellent restaurants, bars and seaside shopping it’s testing to imagine a more picture-perfect destination. Combine this with some of the best accommodation and service on offer anywhere in the world and you’re left with one of the hottest city destinations you’ll ever visit.

On a twenty minute drive around Cape Town it’s possible to tick off all of the above. The city is dominated by one of the world’s most iconic natural landmarks, namely Table Mountain. This spectacular rock formation stands guard over the City as she gets on with her bustling daily life. A short drive over the Mountain ‘neck’ provides you with a vista overlooking Cape Town’s dramatic Atlantic coastline. Here you can find an innumerate number of white sandy beaches.

The jagged spine of the Table Mountain National Park winds its way down towards Cape Point, as seemingly endless fields of rolling vineyards hug the mountainside- On the City’s Atlantic seaboard, one of the world’s most scenic passes, the Chapman’s Peak Drive, clings on perilously to the mountainside as its cliffs fall away into the imposing Atlantic. Continue onwards and the Cape Peninsula’s beaches and quaint villages unfold before you.

There is simply so much to do in Cape Town that it’s virtually impossible to sample all of the city’s attractions in one visit. Whether it be taking the cable car up Table Mountain, sipping wine in the city’s Constantia Winelands or shopping in the bustling Waterfront, there will never be a dull moment in Cape Town, this most stunning and welcoming of destinations.
