General Information

Norman Carr Safaris is a revered name in Zambia’s South Luangwa region. Norman Carr developed the pioneering idea of taking people to look at animals and photograph them rather than hunt them. This portfolio of 5 camps offers a high standard of accommodation and conservation in the South Luangwa National Park and Liuwa National Park.

Kakuli Bush Camp is a tented bush camp with magnificent views, on the banks of the Luangwa River. There are 4 traditional walk-in safari tents each with en-suite bathrooms made with natural materials.

Nsolo Camp is one of the South Luangwa’s more remote luxury safari camps. It offers 54 spacious chalets each on raised wooden decks with grass and reed walls and large open air en-suite bathrooms.

Luwi Bush Camp is nestled in the shade of mahogany trees and offers an authentic and remote bush experience. The 45 chalets are built each season using natural materials which blend into the bush, offering a high level of comfort and service.

Mchenja Camp is a luxurious, elegant and stylish tented camp overlooking a huge sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. The 5 unique tents have been designed with style and comfort in mind, each with a private deck to enjoy the river views. One of the tents at Mchenja is a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom family tents.

Chinzombo has 6 en-suite villas, ensuring a more exclusive, peaceful stay. Tucked into the forest canopy, this lodge promises an exclusive and intimate experience.

Matamanene is the only permanent camp operating in Liuwa Plain National Park. The 4 simple, yet comfortable tents are set is a small island of trees in the heart of the park. They are raised slightly off the ground and offer twin or double beds with en-suite bathrooms.
