Phantom Forest Lodge is located 7 kilometers west of Knysna, at the foot of the spectacular Phantom Pass.
Privately owned, within a 137 ha nature reserve, on the Knysna River; the Phantom Forest offers an unique biodiversity of Afromontane Indigenous Forest, Cape Coastal Fynbos, and Estuarine Wetland, 120 bird species, bushbuck, the rare blue duiker; grysbok, bushpig and many smaller game. Additional lodge facilities include a pool and treatment area called the Body Boma.
The original Tree Camp (the first six tree-suites) has a double bath en-suite bathroom, a lounge area plus outdoor living deck area. Upper Tree Camp has four tree-suites with en-suite bathrooms and an outdoor living area with jacuzzi/bath outside. The new luxurious Moroccan tree-suites have an en-suite bathroom with separate double bath, double shower, bidet, lounge area and private deck/living area outside.
Dinner in the Boma at Phantom Forest is a six course gourmet feast. Cuisine style is new age/international with local flavour and influence. Then there’s the Moroccan restaurant called the Chutzpah! Here the style is informal, communal dining around a low long L-shaped table with colourful suede leather beanbags as seating. Cuisine style is North African/Moroccan, six courses are served feasting style.
