General Information

Rhino Post Safari Lodge and Plains Camp have been offering a chic alternative to the traditional park visit, with exciting extra options thrown in, for ten years now.

And what a fabulous ten years it has been, we have been nominated for and received awards, and developed a following of regular guests and friends that we look forward to seeing at least once a year. Some guests on their first visit are surprised by the ways in which we differ from both the standard Kruger Park experience and the trendy private lodge experience.Ninety five percent of them love it and keep us really busy with referrals and repeat visits, and five percent of them don’t understand the differences.

Location

Rhino Post is located on the Mutlumuvi Concession, 12000hectares of exclusive traversing in the Kruger National Park with a 15km boundary with the Sabi Sands. The lodge is set on the banks of Mutlumuvi dry river bed.

Activities

A typical day would include an early start, a cup of fresh coffee or tea, after which you set out on a game drive. Game drive safaris at Rhino Post are conducted in specially adapted open Landrovers, with professional guides. Upon returning to the lodge enjoy a leisurely brunch and time to relax around the pool overlooking the waterhole. In the late afternoon after a delicious high tea, you can enjoy an evening game drive, winding down with sundowners, watching an African sunset and spotting nocturnal animals in the park.

Rooms

Each of the eight suites are raised on stilts all overlooking the riverbed with en-suite bathroom, separate toilet, outside shower, private wooden deck, mini bar, overhead fan, wooden floors, thatched roofs and canvas walls.

Dining

World-class cuisine is served on wooden thatched decks built alongside the riverbed, in the open air “boma” or in the “farmhouse kitchen”. At night Selati Camp is lit only by the flicker of oil lamps, the warm glow of fires and the spectacular canopy of the night sky. There is a dining verandah for breakfasts and lunches with beautiful views over the surrounding bush.
